Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Spellman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Spellman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hank Barry!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barry fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hank Barry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barry doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Spellman counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Spellman working over Barry with some ground and pound. Barry looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Barry is trying to get back to full guard.
Barry is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Spellman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Spellman's back!

Spellman is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Barry gets his way!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spellman is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Barry is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Spellman has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Spellman is in a bad position with Barry working for a choke. Spellman manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Spellman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barry on the ground.
Spellman won't allow Barry to sweep him here.

Barry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spellman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Barry is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Spellman is aware though and is defending well.
Barry can't keep his opponent in guard - Spellman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Barry is trying to get back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Spellman scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Spellman lands strikes from half guard.
Spellman works his way into side control.
Barry stops Spellman from passing to mount.
Barry is working to avoid the ground and pound but Spellman connects with a decent elbow.
Barry takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Hank Barry has been cut.
Barry is not content to let Spellman control the position.
Barry taking punishment in the form of punches.
Barry tries to buck Spellman off but Spellman is having none of it.
Barry is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spellman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barry keeps working.
Barry is looking for a sweep.
Barry manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Barry seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Barry is looking to advance position but Spellman won't allow it.
Barry thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Spellman's head.

Barry is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Spellman sees it coming and defends easily.
Barry looks gassed!
Barry throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Barry looks to land a strike but Spellman avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Barry won't allow Spellman to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Barry drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Barry as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Spellman screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Barry! Nice submission victory there!
