The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Starner. That snapped Silva's head back.
Silva displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Starner throws out the jab.

Silva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Starner fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Silva misses with the combination.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Starner.
Starner fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Silva rushes Starner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Starner gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Silva is trying to drag Starner to the mat but Starner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Glen Starner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Silva.

Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Starner gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Starner lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Starner tightens his grip and picks Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Silva manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Starner is aware though and is defending well.

Starner is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Starner is pressed up against the cage. Silva has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Starner down to the mat. Starner avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.

Silva is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Starner scores with a couple of nice shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Starner moves into full mount! Silva won't be happy about that!
Starner fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Starner cracks Silva with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
