Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwayne Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsuo Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Watanabe's choice of entrance music: Metallica - All Nightmare Long. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Katsuo Watanabe!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Katsuo Watanabe has been cut.
Johnson connects with a single shot there.

Johnson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Watanabe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Johnson is in Watanabe's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Johnson postures up and lands a big shot to Watanabe's brow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Watanabe has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Watanabe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Watanabe's legs - danger averted.

Johnson is keen to just control but Watanabe is a slippery customer.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Johnson lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Watanabe is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Johnson throws and elbow that misses. Watanabe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Watanabe!

Watanabe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.

Johnson has his hands clasped together around Watanabe's back. He's all about the action.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Watanabe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dwayne Johnson will probably get the nod.

That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Johnson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Watanabe connects with a right hand. Johnson shakes it off.


It looks like Dwayne Johnson has been cut.
Watanabe shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Watanabe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson ducks under a wild hook from Watanabe.
Watanabe scores with a jab to the head.
Watanabe loads up on a big right hand but Johnson slips the punch.

and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Watanabe uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Johnson.
Watanabe throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson punishes Watanabe's body with a nice straight punch.
Watanabe is breathing heavily.
A left lands for Johnson.

Watanabe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


That has opened up Katsuo Watanabe's cut even more.

Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard.
Katsuo Watanabe has got the better of the ground game so far.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The cut above Katsuo Watanabe's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Johnson stands up over Watanabe, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Johnson postures up and lands a big shot to Watanabe's brow.


Katsuo Watanabe's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Katsuo Watanabe's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dwayne Johnson!
A less than humble Dwayne Johnson misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
