PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Noah Bennet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zeke Ramero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramero has chosen The Spade Ramero — Real Thugs as his entrance music. Zeke Ramero is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Noah Bennet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zeke Ramero!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennet throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ramero shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bennet but Bennet pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ramero throws a sloppy head kick and Bennet moves out of range easily.

Bennet pushes Ramero up against the cage in a clinch.

Bennet's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ramero shoots in looking for a takedown. Bennet tries to sprawl out of it but Ramero keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bennet manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bennet thumps Ramero with a low kick.

Ramero closes the distance and clinches up with Bennet, looking for a takedown. Ramero pushes Bennet against the cage but Bennet circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Noah Bennet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zeke Ramero.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looks like Zeke Ramero has been cut.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bennet sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ramero's guard.
Bennet passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ramero!

Bennet's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ramero tries to lock up and control but Bennet gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bennet tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bennet has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ramero is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bennet is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ramero.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Bennet putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Ramero in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Bennet connects with a nasty looking knee right to Ramero's face.
Ramero jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bennet walks away with a smile on his face. Ramero gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ramero uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
No luck for Ramero with that takedown attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bennet throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bennet throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Bennet prevents a takedown attempt there.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Bennet tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Bennet.
Ramero stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bennet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That has opened up Zeke Ramero's cut even more.

Bennet stands up from Ramero's guard - Bennet perhaps looking for a knockout.
Ramero is still on wobbly legs! Can Bennet finish him?
Ramero is breathing heavily.
Bennet looks to throw the jab but Ramero is out of range.

Bennet throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Ramero stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Bennet follows into mount!
Bennet is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ramero can do to turn this around?

Ramero seems to have recovered his senses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ramero is trying desperately to improve position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bennet looking to control and managing it successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Noah Bennet just wasn't active enough.

Bennet moves into the clinch.
Bennet is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ramero is defending well for now.
Ramero wants to break free but Bennet has control.
Bennet tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Ramero has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bennet avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The cut above Zeke Ramero's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Bennet explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Noah Bennet is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bennet connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Ramero to the floor! Bennet dives in looking for the finish!

Bennet working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Still in half guard, Bennet seems content to control.

Ramero shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bennet sprawls well. Bennet wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ramero gets slowly back to his feet.
Noah Bennet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zeke Ramero.
Ramero steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bennet.
Noah Bennet is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bennet fakes the leg kick and cracks Ramero in the body.
Bennet feints and then cracks Ramero's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ramero down.

Bennet lands a head kick that stumbles Ramero and the fighters go to the mat.


Zeke Ramero's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Zeke Ramero's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Noah Bennet!
