Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lee Sawaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urie Sergeyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lee Sawaguchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Urie Sergeyev!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sergeyev is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sawaguchi's half guard.

Sawaguchi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sergeyev defends it easily.

Sergeyev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sawaguchi gets tackled into the cage by Sergeyev. Sergeyev maintains the clinch.

Sergeyev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sawaguchi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Sawaguchi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Urie Sergeyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sergeyev feints a jab promting Sawaguchi to slip. Sergeyev then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sawaguchi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Sergeyev counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sawaguchi's guard now.
Sawaguchi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Urie Sergeyev has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sawaguchi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Urie Sergeyev dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Sergeyev wants to get up but he can't break Sawaguchi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Sergeyev is looking to work some ground and pound but Sawaguchi has wrist control.
Sawaguchi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sergeyev is controlling an arm, preventing Sawaguchi from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Sawaguchi wants to finish this one by submission but Sergeyev is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sawaguchi.

Sawaguchi goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sergeyev is on top in guard.

Sergeyev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sawaguchi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sergeyev has managed to get both his arms back between Sawaguchi's legs - danger averted.

Sawaguchi is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sergeyev to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sergeyev shrugs it off.
Sergeyev tries to buck Sawaguchi off but he can't manage it.
Sergeyev holds on for dear life, controlling Sawaguchi's posture momentarily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lee Sawaguchi.
Well Sergeyev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
