The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yen moves into the clinch.
van der Vaart tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Yen just misses with a elbow thrown towards van der Vaart's brow.
van der Vaart blocks the elbow strike.
van der Vaart fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
van der Vaart softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
van der Vaart digs a right hand underneath Yen 's ribcage. Yen let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Yen looking to throw knees to the head but van der Vaart is blocking nicely.
Yen lands an elbow just above van der Vaart 's eye.

Yen creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through van der Vaart's defenses.
van der Vaart is trying to maintain a safe position but Yen gets an underhook and turns van der Vaart into the cage.
Yen lands an elbow inside that van der Vaart shrugs off.
That has opened up Soloman van der Vaart's cut even more.
Yen pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Yen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but van der Vaart blocks it with crossed arms.

Yen throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Oh Yen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
van der Vaart makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Yen using the Thai plumb to throw knees but van der Vaart has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
van der Vaart swings away with an uppercut that misses.
van der Vaart dips a shoulder and cracks Yen with a mighty uppercut! Yen falls back against the cage and van der Vaart unloads with a barrage of strikes! Yen is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - van der Vaart screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Soloman van der Vaart!
In his post fight interview, Soloman van der Vaart gave a big smile as he said 'FUCK YOU REMY'.
