Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kim Kallstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Arona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kallstrom's entrance music is God Hates Us. A fine choice. Kim Kallstrom has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kallstrom throws a sloppy head kick and Arona moves out of range easily.
Arona avoids the head kick by Kallstrom.
Arona moves to clinch but Kallstrom breaks away

and Kallstrom counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Arona manages to get to full guard.
Arona has momentary wrist control but Kallstrom slips an elbow through the middle.
Arona has his hands on Kallstrom's head, controlling the position.

Arona bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kallstrom's guard.

Ricardo Arona has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Kallstrom knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Arona on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Arona gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kallstrom fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Arona gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kallstrom to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kallstrom is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kallstrom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arona swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Arona has his foot on Kallstrom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kallstrom works his way back into a safe position though.

Kallstrom doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Kallstrom throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Arona escapes and throws Kallstrom's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Arona tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Arona has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arona wants to control but Kallstrom is keeping him busy.
Kallstrom throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Kallstrom tries to buck Arona off but Arona is having none of it.

Arona decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kallstrom to his feet.
Kallstrom tries to clinch up but Arona circles away and keeps his distance.
Kallstrom shoots for a takedown but Arona saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Arona has his takedown stuffed
and Kallstrom counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Kallstrom closes the distance and pushes Arona back into the cage.
Kallstrom tries to pull guard but Arona won't allow it.

Kallstrom is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Arona is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Arona decides to stand and escape the position.

Kallstrom changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arona tries to avoid it but Kallstrom manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arona to the ground. Arona escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kim Kallstrom. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Arona throws a push kick but Kallstrom slaps the foot to one side.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kallstrom jumps guard but Arona stands there with Kallstrom around his waist. Kallstrom gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Arona is looking to sinch up a triangle. Kallstrom throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Arona's body to avoid the submission. Arona has instead reached around Kallstrom's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Arona arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
