The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duxx is looking to clinch.
Duxx tries to close the distance and clinch up but Escuela swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Escuela counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Escuela stands up over Duxx, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Escuela is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Duxx is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Duxx has escaped and now he's on top!

Escuela has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Escuela is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Duxx defends well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duxx wanted to stand there but Escuela had control of the position.

Escuela has his foot on Duxx's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duxx works his way back into a safe position though.
