PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Stigu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bong comes to the ring accompanied by Hits From The Bong. Stigu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sabrina-Boys. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bong looking to score a takedown here. Stigu is defending well but Bong drives through and ends up in Stigu's guard.
Stigu keeping full guard, as Bong tries to pass.
Bong looking to sit in guard and control but Stigu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Stigu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Stigu throwing strikes from guard but Bong blocks nicely.
Bong wants to sweep but no luck.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bong utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Stigu wanted to stand there but Bong had control of the position.
Bong looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stigu is one step ahead there.

We're going to have a standup here because The Bong wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Stigu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bong.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stigu but Stigu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stigu throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Good standup being displayed there by Stigu as he connects with a hook.

It looks like The Bong has been cut.
The Bong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stigu bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bong's head.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Stigu.
Bong dives in and grabs Stigu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stigu pushes down on Bong's head and hops out.
Bong fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stigu avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Bong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stigu throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Stigu lands with a straight right. Bong didn't see that one coming.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Bong shoots in looking for a takedown. Stigu tries to sprawl out of it but Bong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Stigu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Stigu throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bong on the side of the head.
Bong has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stigu finds it's way round the side to connect with Bong's head.
Stigu with a jab.
Bong takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Stigu changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Stigu fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Stigu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The Bong's cut is getting worse.
Stigu will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Stigu digs a good hook to Bong's body.
Bong misses with a takedown attempt - Stigu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bong is breathing heavily.
Stigu scores with a hook to the body. Bong takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Stigu throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Stigu throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stigu cracks the inside of Bong's front leg.
Stigu stuns Bong with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Stigu wants to land a leg kick but Bong is out of range.
Stigu lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bong's sensitive parts.
Bong takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Stigu scores with a nice right hand.
Stigu misses with a low kick.
Mr Stigu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stigu lands with a nice body punch.
A left lands for Stigu.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bong avoids the head kick by Stigu.
Stigu stalks Bong and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bong's face. Bong staggers backwards, shaken.
Nice uppercut lands for Stigu. That snapped Bong's head back.
Bong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bong moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Stigu scores with a jab. Bong acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

The Bong's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Bong shoots in but no luck this time.
A jab lands there for Stigu.

Bong is rocked!
Bong gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Stigu gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Bong is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mr Stigu!
