PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Trinckelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Smoke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smoke has chosen John E Smoke as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Tony Trinckelton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Smoke!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smoke moves in looking to clinch but Trinckelton pushes him off.

Trinckelton gets tackled into the cage by Smoke. Smoke maintains the clinch.
Smoke is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Smoke with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Smoke throws an elbow that misses.

Trinckelton manages to break the clinch.
Trinckelton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smoke.
Smoke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Trinckelton pinned against the cage. Trinckelton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smoke throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Trinckelton throws a right hand that misses
and Smoke counters with a nice low kick that buckles Trinckelton's knee momentarily.
Trinckelton looks to land a body kick but Smoke moved away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smoke closes the distance and clinches.
Smoke throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Trinckelton blocks it with crossed arms.
Smoke throws a knee to the head but misses.
Smoke throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Trinckeltons head.
Smoke throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Smoke tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Trinckelton smiles and moves away.
Smoke fails to land the takedown.
Tony Trinckelton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Smoke.
Smoke shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trinckelton as he jumps to the side.
Trinckelton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Trinckelton missing with a left hand there. Smoke was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Smoke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Trinckelton stuns Smoke with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Trinckelton.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smoke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Trinckelton lands with a kick to the ribs.
Trinckelton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Smoke.
Smoke slips a jab and a cross from Trinckelton.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smoke shoots in but Trinckelton avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smoke moves to clinch but Trinckelton breaks away
and Trinckelton counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Smoke looks gassed!
Trinckelton moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Johnny Smoke has been cut.

Trinckelton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Smoke sneaks back into half guard.
Trinckelton trying to control from half guard but Smoke is working away.
Trinckelton throwing shots but Smoke is blocking nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smoke is controlling Trinckelton's trapped leg to prevent Trinckelton from advancing to side control.
Smoke is not content to let Trinckelton control the position.
Trinckelton scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Smoke is trying to get back to full guard.
Trinckelton trying to control the action but Smoke is working from the bottom.
Trinckelton wants to free his trapped foot but Smoke is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Smoke is staying active underneath Trinckelton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tony Trinckelton.
Smoke lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smoke wants to clinch up but Trinckelton keeps it at a distance.
Trinckelton looks to land a combination but Smoke avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Trinckelton dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Johnny Smoke's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Trinckelton misses with the combination.
Trinckelton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Smoke uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Trinckelton.
Smoke throws a shot to the body.
Smoke takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smoke moves into range and connects with a jab.
Trinckelton stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Trinckelton slips under a jab from Smoke.
Smoke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Trinckelton sprawls well. Trinckelton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smoke gets slowly back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smoke. Trinckelton does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smoke wants to clinch up but Trinckelton keeps it at a distance.

It's a brutal combination of punches from Trinckelton! Smoke is backing up but he can't get away as Trinckelton lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Smoke and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tony Trinckelton!
