Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Marzapane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cormac Whelan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marzapane comes into the arena with Survivor - Eye of the Tiger blaring out of the sound system. Whelan has chosen Bonny Portmore as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marzapane fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Marzapane misses with a straight left.
Whelan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marzapane lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Marzapane fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Whelan manages to avoid it.
Marzapane misses with an attempted mid kick.

A looping hook to the body misses from Marzapane. Whelan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Marzapane lets loose with a powerful body kick. Whelan will feel that in the morning.

Marzapane looks to land a left hand but Whelan moved out of range nicely.

Marzapane lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Whelan sizes up Marzapane with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Luigi Marzapane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whelan thows a body shot but no joy.
Whelan is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Whelan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Marzapane finds it's way round the side to connect with Whelan's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Marzapane counters with a body kick that stops Whelan in his tracks momentarily.
Marzapane throws a series of punches but Whelan moves out of range.
Marzapane scores with a jab. Whelan acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Marzapane walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Whelan drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Marzapane swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Whelan's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
