Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladislav Kalashnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kalashnikov has chosen Metallica - Broken, Beat & Scarred as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Max Bear has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vladislav Kalashnikov!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kalashnikov.
Kalashnikov misses with a wild body shot.

Bear pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Bear gets a double leg takedown into Kalashnikov's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kalashnikov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bear is just riding it out for now. Kalashnikov eventually gives up the hold.
Well, if Kalashnikov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bear shoots in looking for a takedown. Kalashnikov tries to sprawl out of it but Bear keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kalashnikov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bear throws a nice looking combination but Kalashnikov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bear fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kalashnikov avoids it really well and circles away.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Bear. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kalashnikov is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Kalashnikov tries to work over Bear's front leg with a kick but Bear checks it.
Bear dives in and grabs Kalashnikov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kalashnikov pushes down on Bear's head and hops out.
Bear has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kalashnikov finds it's way round the side to connect with Bear's head.
Bear fails to land the takedown.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kalashnikov, as that shot connected.

Bear is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kalashnikov tries to free his leg and advance position but Bear is retaining full guard.
Kalashnikov won't allow Bear to get back to his feet.
Bear controls Kalashnikov momentarily but Kalashnikov frees himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vladislav Kalashnikov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kalashnikov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck for Bear with that takedown attempt.
Bear moves out of range of the strikes.
Nice takedown defense from Kalashnikov. No joy for Bear on that attempt.
Kalashnikov throws a lazy right hand but Bear sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kalashnikov leaves Bear with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bear with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kalashnikov to score with a decent uppercut.

Bear tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kalashnikov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kalashnikov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bear takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Kalashnikov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bear napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Kalashnikov lands a strong strike to the head of Bear. That's dazed him! Kalashnikov looking to finish here. Bear is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Kalashnikov lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
