PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Spade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams has chosen Ya Boy- Rock and Roll as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Mike Williams struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spade is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Williams.
Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Spade, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Spade against the cage but Spade circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Williams walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
No luck for Williams with that takedown attempt.
Spade lands a body shot.

Spade gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spade. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Williams looks gassed!

Spade had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Williams is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Spade Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Williams's back instead.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Williams is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Spade looking to break Williams's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Williams remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Spade will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Williams is trying to defend against the choke here but Spade has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Spade Tightens the hold and Williams taps out furiously! Spade displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
