Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hazni Ali!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Harris!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Harris manages to avoid it.
Ali misses with a double jab.
Ali shoots in but no luck this time.
Harris thows a body shot but no joy.
Ali uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Harris.
Harris takes a swing at Ali's ribcage but misses.
Ali fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Harris misses with a hook.
Ali takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
James Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ali looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Harris is fending him off so far but Ali persists. Nope, Harris circles away and we're back to standing.
Harris misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ali takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Ali cracks Harris with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Ali has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ali connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Harris some visible discomfort.
Ali is looking to take a break and control but Harris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harris can do anything to dispel that myth.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Harris avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ali.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Harris swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Harris throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ali dives in and grabs Harris's left leg, looking for a takedown. Harris pushes down on Ali's head and hops out.
Harris misses the shot to the body.
Ali slips under a jab.

Ali moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Harris. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Harris.
Ali fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ali throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ali steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Harris.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Ali here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Harris scores with a nice head shot.
Harris takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Harris tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ali was well out of range. Poor timing from Harris.

Ali fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harris avoids it really well and circles away.
Harris scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ali in his tracks.
Harris digs a good body shot into Ali's ribs.
Harris fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Harris tries to sprawl but Ali drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Ali tries to pass the half guard into mount. Harris knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Ali throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ali wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harris keeps working.
Ali thows a huge punch but Harris dodges it nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ali connects with a nice short shot to Harris's temple.

Ali breaks from Harris's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Harris's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Ali throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harris is bucking up trying to escape but Ali cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Ali looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Harris throws a lazy right hand but Ali sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice shot lands for Harris.
Ali takes one to the chin there.
Ali is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Harris jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Ali shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Harris is trying to defend but Ali finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ali working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Ali looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Harris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Harris is trying to stand up here but Ali is controlling him well.
Ali thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hazni Ali overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hazni Ali is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hazni Ali just wasn't active enough.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ali seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hazni Ali showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ali, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
