Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Masahiku Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Williams. No joy for Kimura on that attempt.
Kimura lands a two punch combo.
No luck for Kimura with that takedown attempt.
Kimura looks for a takedown but Williams sprawls well.
Matthew Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masahiku Kimura.
Williams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kimura swivels and escapes.

Kimura is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Williams's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Williams's back!

Williams fails with a takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Williams enables Kimura to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Williams manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Williams wants to get back to his feet but Kimura is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kimura throws a strike but Williams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kimura working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kimura lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Williams!
Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kimura on the ground.

Kimura has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee warns Williams that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Williams wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kimura.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masahiku Kimura showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kimura throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kimura off to one side.
Williams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kimura circles away.

Kimura feints and as Williams raises his hands in defense, Kimura changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Williams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Kimura is looking to work some ground and pound but Williams has wrist control.

Kimura is in close to Williams's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kimura wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.

Kimura drops back, looking for a kneebar! Williams looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Williams looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Williams!
Kimura takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Williams cracks Kimura with a big right hand but Kimura just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kimura has eaten all the pies!

Kimura sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Williams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kimura with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kimura is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Williams scores with a couple of nice shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kimura makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kimura.

Kimura has his foot on Williams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williams works his way back into a safe position though.

Kimura has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Williams has passed into side control.

Kimura is not content to let Williams control the position.
Williams is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kimura is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kimura is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Williams off and has taken his back!
Masahiku Kimura is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Kimura has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
