PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Tabera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vato Loco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Loco drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Loco wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tabera keeps working.

Tabera wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Tabera trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Loco tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Loco decides to stand back up. Loco steps back and let's Tabera get back to his feet.

Tabera wants to get up but he can't break Loco's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Loco wants to sweep here but Tabera controlling him for the moment.

Loco manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You get the feeling that Tabera really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Loco is landing with some decent strikes but Tabera is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Loco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tabera's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Vato Loco wasn't active enough on the ground.

Loco has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Tabera should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Loco has tightened it up now! Tabera should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Vato Loco tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
