Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Runihura Ojore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Kauffmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Runihura Ojore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaun Kauffmann!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ojore closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kauffmann's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ojore controlling from the top position.
Ojore prevents Kauffmann from getting back to his feet.
Ojore slips nicely into half guard.
Well, if Ojore is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kauffmann works his way to full guard. Good work.
Kauffmann thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ojore trying to control but Kauffmann is working from the bottom.

Ojore tries to free his leg and advance position but Kauffmann is retaining full guard.
Kauffmann controls Ojore momentarily but Ojore frees himself.

Ojore trying to control the position from guard on top but Kauffmann is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kauffmann wants to get back to his feet but Ojore is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ojore drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kauffmann dives on top into guard.
Ojore wants to stand but Kauffmann is controlling the position.

Ojore pushes Kauffmann off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Ojore shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ojore was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kauffmann is bucking up trying to escape but Ojore cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Kauffmann is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ojore scoring with strikes but Kauffmann is staying in there.

Ojore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kauffmann on the ground.
Kauffmann tries to lock up and control but Ojore gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kauffmann regains half guard.

Ojore is controlling the pace.
Ojore wants to control but Kauffmann is keeping him busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Runihura Ojore just wasn't active enough.

Ojore closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kauffmann trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Ojore manages to pass to mount!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kauffmann keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Shaun Kauffmann is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ojore shoots in looking for a takedown but Kauffmann manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ojore's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kauffmann stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kauffmann wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Runihura Ojore. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kauffmann closes the distance and pushes Ojore back into the cage.
Kauffmann has Ojore pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ojore manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ojore wants the takedown. Kauffmann is fighting it off but Ojore persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kauffmann's guard against the cage.

Ojore looking to sit in guard and control but Kauffmann gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ojore scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Ojore changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kauffmann looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ojore really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ojore slows the pace down.
Kauffmann is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Kauffmann is refusing to be controlled, as Ojore sits in half guard.
Kauffmann trying to hold on to Ojore's head to control him but Ojore postures up.
Ojore trying to mount his opponent but Kauffmann defends it.
Ojore will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Runihura Ojore has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Ojore shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Kauffmann squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Kauffmann is breathing heavily.
Ojore controlling the pace for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kauffmann wants to control but Ojore is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Ojore shoots in and bounces Kauffmann off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ojore is looking to advance position but Kauffmann has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Ojore is squirming around, avoiding Kauffmann's attempts to control the action.
Ojore is wriggling around trying to escape.

Ojore defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kauffmann.

Poor strikes thrown by Kauffmann there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Ojore can't escape the position.
Kauffmann takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ojore tries to reverse the position but Kauffmann maintains control.
Kauffmann misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Kauffmann wants to control but Ojore has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

Ojore tries to kick Kauffmann off but Kauffmann keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kauffmann tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ojore knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Ojore is staying active underneath Kauffmann, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kauffmann takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Shaun Kauffmann has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ojore uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kauffmann.
Kauffmann stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kauffmann wants it to stay on the feet.
Kauffmann shoots in and drives through. Ojore sprawls well.

Kauffmann gets caught napping as Ojore dives in and scores a takedown. Kauffmann manages to retain guard.
Kauffmann keeping moving, preventing Ojore from controlling successfully.
Ojore has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Kauffmann looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ojore has picked Kauffmann up and slammed him! Kauffmann can't keep hold of the triangle and Ojore manages to pass to side control!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ojore, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
