The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gives falls off balance throwing a combination
and Caine makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Caine throws a body punch but Gives moves out of range.
Caine connects with the punch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gives looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Caine lands a nice hook to Gives's body. Gives takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Gives is nestled in close to Caine, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Caine tries to roll over but Gives keeps him under control.

Caine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gives defends it easily.

Gives must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Caine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gives wants to control from the top but Caine keeps moving.

Caine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gives can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gives's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Gives is in close to Caine's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Gives keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Caine's head.
Gives throws a big elbow that misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Caine tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Gives trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gives throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Caine works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Caine isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gives stacks Caine on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gives!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ryan Gives will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gives uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Caine.

Caiaphas Caine's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
