PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Dominic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ortiz comes into the arena with Break Stuff blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tito Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Warren Dominic!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dominic misses with a hook.
Warren Dominic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dominic throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Ortiz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ortiz lands a nice short elbow.
Still in half guard, Ortiz seems content to control.

Dominic looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Dominic is looking to control Ortiz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dominic avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dominic looking for submissions off his back.
Ortiz missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Ortiz lands strikes from half guard.
Ortiz scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Ortiz with the ground and pound but Dominic uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Dominic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ortiz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ortiz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dominic wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ortiz is now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ortiz winds up and cracks Dominic with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Dominic wants to control but Ortiz is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ortiz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Ortiz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dominic's head.
Ortiz is looking to take a break and control but Dominic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dominic tries to roll over but Ortiz keeps him under control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ortiz connects with a nice short shot to Dominic's temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ortiz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dominic defends it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dominic tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ortiz has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Ortiz cracks Dominic with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


It looks like Warren Dominic has been cut.
Dominic working to try and regain half guard.
Dominic sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Dominic looking for submissions off his back.
Ortiz passes to side control.
Ortiz scoring with punches from side control.
Ortiz working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ortiz trying to control the position but Dominic is working away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ortiz scores with a couple of short elbows.
Dominic is looking for a sweep.
Dominic takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.


That has opened up Warren Dominic's cut even more.
Ortiz connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dominic some visible discomfort.
Dominic is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dominic can't do much from the bottom here.
Dominic trying to remain calm as Ortiz controls from the top position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dominic tries to improve position but can't.

Ortiz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A lull in the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tito Ortiz dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Warren Dominic's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dominic rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ortiz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ortiz slips a jab and a cross from Dominic.
Ortiz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dominic.
Dominic jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dominic looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ortiz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ortiz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dominic quickly recovers to half guard.
Dominic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dominic is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ortiz pulls his head out easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dominic has hold of Ortiz's hands but Ortiz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Dominic regains full guard. Nicely done.
Ortiz postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ortiz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dominic's head.
Ortiz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ortiz with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.


Dominic is rocked!


The cut above Warren Dominic's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Ortiz loads up on a big left hand. Dominic felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Ortiz looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Dominic can't hide his disappointment, as Ortiz celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tito Ortiz!
Tito Ortiz was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
