Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gashiko gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Gashiko jumps guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gashiko can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cortez is looking to stand up but Gashiko won't let him.
Cortez trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Gashiko looking for a sweep. Not yet Gashiko, not yet.
Cortez gets to his feet. Gashiko looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Gashiko misses with a hook.
Gashiko misses with an uppercut. Cortez saw that one coming.
Cortez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Machette Gashiko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cortez walks into a left hand.
It looks like Rez Cortez has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cortez moves out of range as Gashiko strikes.
Gashiko throws a shot from downtown. Cortez moves away and avoids it.
Gashiko moves into the clinch.
Gashiko gets control of Cortez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gashiko will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cortez wants to stand and escape but instead Gashiko has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Gashiko with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cortez wants to stand and escape but Gashiko is having none of it.
Gashiko gets to his feet - Cortez follows without any prompting.
Gashiko forces Cortez back against the cage and clinches.
Gashiko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A punch combination from Cortez misses.
Cortez stalks Gashiko and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gashiko's face. Gashiko staggers backwards, shaken.
Gashiko moves into range and clinches up with Cortez.
Cortez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Gashiko drags the fight down to the ground.
Cortez wants to stand but Gashiko is controlling his posture from full guard.
Gashiko pulls Cortez in close to prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cortez is looking to stand up but Gashiko won't let him.
Machette Gashiko has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Gashiko drops Cortez with a naaaaasty hook - Cortez is in real trouble here! Gashiko dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Machette Gashiko!
