PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bums Bi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Fernan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Infected Mushroom - Killing Time. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bums Bi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Fernan!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fernan looks to score with a jab to the body but Bi is just out of range.
Bi tries to clinch but Fernan moves out of range.

Bi tries to sprawl but Fernan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bi wants to control but Fernan is keeping busy.

Bi has momentary wrist control but Fernan slips an elbow through the middle.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fernan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fernan is controlling him.

Bi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fernan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fernan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fernan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fernan has managed to get both his arms back between Bi's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fernan manages to get himself to full guard.

Bums Bi dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Bums Bi has been cut.
Bi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fernan avoids it really well and circles away.

Fernan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fernan wants it to stay on the feet.
That kick from Fernan tenderised Bi's leg. Bi is trying to keep his angry face on.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bums Bi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fernan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well Fernan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
