Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Austin Montoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroshi Karasawa!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya with a poor takedown

and Karasawa counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Montoya's guard now.

Montoya has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karasawa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Montoya escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Karasawa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Montoya is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Karasawa is aware though and is defending well.

Karasawa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Montoya has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Karasawa has managed to get both his arms back between Montoya's legs - danger averted.

Karasawa is working for a kimura but Montoya is defending it quite comfortably.
Karasawa works his way into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karasawa stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Montoya will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Montoya had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Karasawa defends it easily.

Montoya drops back, looking for a kneebar! Karasawa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Karasawa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Karasawa!

Montoya is looking to sinch up a triangle. Karasawa throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Montoya's body to avoid the submission. Montoya has instead reached around Karasawa's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Montoya arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Austin Montoya!
