Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damien William!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evan D!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and William counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

William shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. William showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
William throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

William seems to be looking for submissions.
D is trying to stand.

William looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

William is looking for a kimura but D is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for William to get the leverage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
William not landing any meaningful shots this time.
D is trying to stand back up but William is controlling him
William is looking to advance position but D won't allow it.

D pushes William off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

William shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in D's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

William drops back, looking for a kneebar! D looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. D looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from D!
William can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
D wants to lay and pray for a moment but William keeps working.
William wants to control but D postures up.
William is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked D off and has taken his back!

William is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

D showing good submission defense here.

William is looking for a rear naked choke here but D reverses the position brilliantly into William's guard!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as William holds on and takes a little breather.
William working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from D.
William is trying to keep D in close.
D controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

D trying to control but William is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
D throws a combination. William tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
D misses with a combination
and William counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

enabling William to counter with a crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damien William dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


D throws a left and a right that both miss

so William counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

William has gone for a leg lock! D slips out almost immediately though and dives into William's guard.
D trying to control the position from guard on top but William is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

D is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but William has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. D is looking to defend but William has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for D! William pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, D taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Damien William!
