PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Greg Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Molestron ThreeThousand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Sampson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Molestron ThreeThousand!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
ThreeThousand has his takedown stuffed
and ThreeThousand takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
ThreeThousand tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Sampson stuffs the takedown attempt from ThreeThousand. ThreeThousand gets slowly back to his feet.
Sampson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Sampson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
ThreeThousand is not content to let Sampson control the position.

Sampson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Sampson tries to clinch but ThreeThousand is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sampson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

ThreeThousand scores with a takedown into Sampson's guard.
Sampson looking to hit a scissor sweep but ThreeThousand is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
ThreeThousand connects with a couple of short punches.
ThreeThousand trying to control but Sampson is working from the bottom.
ThreeThousand missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
ThreeThousand being controlled here momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sampson keeping full guard, as ThreeThousand tries to pass.
ThreeThousand wants to control from the top but Sampson keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and ThreeThousand counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sampson won't be happy with that.

ThreeThousand tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

ThreeThousand thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
ThreeThousand misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sampson tries to improve position but can't.
ThreeThousand is staying tight to Sampson's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

ThreeThousand tries for a kimura but Sampson is defending well.

ThreeThousand looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
ThreeThousand wants to control but Sampson is keeping him busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sampson pushes ThreeThousand away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, ThreeThousand gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Molestron ThreeThousand will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sampson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Sampson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
ThreeThousand is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sampson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sampson's back!

ThreeThousand is persistently looking for the submission but Sampson is defending it well.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - ThreeThousand's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
