Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thiang Puruhat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hank Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Puruhat throws a leg kick but Peterson sees it coming and moves out of range.
Puruhat throws a leg kick but Peterson sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Peterson swings for the body but Puruhat moves out of range.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Puruhat checks a leg kick.
Peterson misses with a leg kick.
Peterson throws a head kick that misses.
Peterson connects with a high kick.
Puruhat buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Puruhat lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Peterson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Puruhat is able to avoid easily.
Puruhat tries to close the distance and clinch but Peterson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Puruhat looks to throw a body kick
and Peterson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Puruhat really felt that one!

Peterson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Puruhat is out of range.

Peterson is pressed up against the cage. Puruhat has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Peterson down to the mat. Peterson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Peterson counters with a head kick.

Peterson gets tackled into the cage by Puruhat. Puruhat maintains the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Puruhat changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Peterson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Peterson throws a head kick that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Thiang Puruhat will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Puruhat has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Peterson regains guard immediately.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Peterson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Puruhat throws a big right hand that misses.
Puruhat might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Puruhat pushes down on Peterson's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Puruhat fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Puruhat is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Peterson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
BOOM! Puruhat connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Puruhat is landing with some decent strikes but Peterson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Puruhat is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Puruhat extends the arm and Peterson is forced to tap!
