With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Konstantin Snegov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snegov throws a series of punches but Khripunov moves out of range.

Khripunov forces Snegov back against the ropes and clinches.
Snegov unloads a knee to the mid-section. Khripunov lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Snegov is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Khripunov scores with a hook to the body.
Snegov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Khripunov is defending well for now.
Snegov tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Khripunov avoids it.

Snegov misses with a knee strike.
Snegov tries a knee to the head but Khripunov blocks it.
Snegov prevents a takedown attempt there.
Khripunov misses with a hook to the ribs.
Snegov with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Khripunov closes the distance and clinches.
Khripunov on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Khripunov tries to throw a body punch but Snegov avoids it by throwing Khripunov back against the ropes.

Snegov looking to throw knees to the head but Khripunov is blocking nicely.
Snegov tries a knee to the head but Khripunov blocks it.
Khripunov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yurik Khripunov . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Snegov tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Khripunov avoids it.
Snegov tries to circle away but Khripunov has him pinned against the ropes.

Khripunov wants the takedown. Snegov is fighting it off but Khripunov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Snegov's guard against the ropes.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Khripunov has gone for a leg lock! Snegov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Khripunov 's guard.
Snegov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Khripunov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Snegov stacks Khripunov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Snegov!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Khripunov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Snegov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Khripunov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Snegov is looking for a kimura but Khripunov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Snegov to get the leverage.
Khripunov is looking for a sweep. Snegov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Snegov wants to pass the guard but Khripunov is defending well.

Snegov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Snegov is looking to advance position but Khripunov won't allow it.
Khripunov manages to get to full guard.

Khripunov has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Snegov doesn't defend quickly enough and Khripunov has managed to lock this one up! Can Snegov escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Khripunov on a fantastic submission victory.
