PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between PE PE (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasilijus Petrovas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

PE drives through and clinches with Petrovas against the cage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

PE stalks Petrovas and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Petrovas's face. Petrovas staggers backwards, shaken.
PE fails in his attempt to clinch.
PE keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
PE scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
PE moves in looking to clinch but Petrovas pushes him off.

PE shoots in for a takedown but Petrovas shows good takedown defense.

PE is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Petrovas is defending well for now.

Petrovas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Petrovas looking to punish the body of his opponent here but PE is avoiding damage well.
PE has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
PE is looking to reverse the position.
PE is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
PE tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Petrovas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to PE PE.
I think Petrovas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
