Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Ventura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Ramalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Felipe Ventura had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Ventura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Ramalho!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramalho misses with a takedown
and Ventura makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Felipe Ventura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ventura scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ramalho tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ventura decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Ventura throws the kick towards the body but Ramalho avoids it.

Ventura rushes Ramalho and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ventura has Ramalho pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ventura pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ramalho tumbling to the mat - Ventura dives into Ramalho's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ramalho manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ventura manages to get himself to full guard.

Ventura has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ramalho is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ventura.
You can see the frustration on Ventura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramalho tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ramalho has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ventura tries to improve position but can't.

Ramalho tries for a kimura but Ventura is defending well.
Ramalho moves into full mount!
Ventura tries to reverse the position but Ramalho maintains control.

Ramalho jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ventura is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ventura and Ramalho has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ramalho working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ramalho has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ventura is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Ramalho yanks on the arm and Ventura is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Ramalho.
