The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzwell throws a hook but Ortizzz blocks it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ortizzz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fitzwell wants to get back to his feet but Ortizzz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Fitzwell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ortizzz on the ground.

Ortizzz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fitzwell sees it coming and defends easily.
Fitzwell tries to kick Ortizzz off but Ortizzz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ortizzz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fitzwell is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ortizzz has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Ortizzz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fitzwell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Fitzwell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Fitzwell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ortizzz moves away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ortizzz lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fitzwell down.
