The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rankinstein lands with a hook. Roufus tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Roufus misses with a takedown attempt - Rankinstein sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rankinstein moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Rankinstein lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roufus circles away quickly and effectively.

Derrick Rankinstein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Duke Roufus.

Roufus doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Roufus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rankinstein was covering up waiting for the punch and Roufus finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rankinstein is pawing at Roufus, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Roufus's nose. Roufus is badly hurt! Rankinstein pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Roufus tries desperately to hold on but Rankinstein is relentless in his assault! As Roufus receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Rankinstein away and this one is in the books!
