Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to When Will They Shoot. Lopez has chosen Party Down as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Smith.

Smith postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lopez to stand up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lopez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lopez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lopez!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lopez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Smith holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Smith turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Smith manages to end up in side control.

Lopez is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Smith is controlling him well.

Barry Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
