PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pain Statement (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Ives (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Statement comes into the arena with Statement of Pain blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ives misses with an attempted mid kick.
Statement misses with an uppercut. Ives saw that one coming.
Statement checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ives fails in his attempt to clinch.
Statement slips a straight right by Ives.
Statement needs to keep his hands up - Ives had a free shot at his head there.
Statement walks into a straight right hand from Ives.
Statement gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ives.
Statement lands with a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ives avoids the body shot from Statement.
Statement lands with a straight right. Ives didn't see that one coming.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Statement steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Ives. That one must have hurt.
Ives ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ives on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ives looks gassed!
Ives takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

It looks like Johnny Ives has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Statement digs a good body shot into Ives's ribs.
Ives takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ives takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ives has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Statement finds it's way round the side to connect with Ives's head.
Ives gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Statement points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Ives wakes up just in time to hear Statement thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pain Statement!

Pain Statement took some time post fight to say the following; 'Ives is a hell of a fighter and he's got a hell of a future ahead of him. I'll admitt I was nervouse heading into this fight.'.
