Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian Brutal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Devo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Devo has chosen sexy as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brutal tries to close the distance and clinch but Devo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Devo clinches up against the cage.
Devo goes for a takedown attempt but Brutal pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Devo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brutal paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No joy there for Devo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brutal shoots in but no luck this time.

Brutal gets a clinch.
Brutal is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Devo is looking to take this one to the mat.
Brian Brutal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Devo.

Brutal throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Devo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Brutal throws a sloppy head kick and Devo moves out of range easily.

Devo scores with a takedown into Brutal's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Brutal wants to get back to his feet.
Brutal is breathing heavily.
Devo is controlling the pace.
Devo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Devo trying to mount his opponent but Brutal defends it.
Devo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Brutal defending well though.
Devo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Devo wasn't active enough on the ground.
Devo moves out of range of the body kick.
Devo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brutal.

Devo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brutal quickly recovers to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brutal tries to get to full guard but Devo has control of the leg.
Brutal is looking to control Devo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brutal avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brutal strikes from the bottom but Devo uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Devo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Brutal to his feet.
Devo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brutal pinned against the cage. Brutal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Devo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Brutal on his heels. He'll look to pass Brutal's guard now, I'm sure.
Devo wants to control from the top but Brutal keeps moving.
Devo is pushing down on Brutal's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brutal is fighting to maintain full guard but Devo has managed to sneak the leg through.

Brutal wants to get back to full guard but Devo has mounted him!
Devo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Devo working the ground and pound effectively.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brutal defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Devo.
Devo controlling the pace for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Devo with a couple of short strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brutal wants to hold on but Devo pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Devo dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Brutal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Devo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brutal swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brutal.
Nice takedown defense from Devo. No joy for Brutal on that attempt.
Devo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brutal's waist but Brutal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Devo off to one side.

Devo has managed to clinch.

Brutal manages to break the clinch.

Devo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Brutal is trying to stand up here but Devo is controlling him well.
Devo passes the guard and advances to mount!
Devo lands a big shot there that rocks Brutal but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Devo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Devo throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Brutal has his hands clasped together but Devo breaks the hold and Brutal is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Devo!
