Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jedi Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esteban Rodriquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knight comes into the arena with Why Can't We be Friends blaring out of the sound system. Rodriquez has chosen Rev Theory- Light it Up as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jedi Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Esteban Rodriquez!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Rodriquez misses.
Rodriquez connects with a looping right hand.

Knight fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rodriquez to the ground. Knight is now in Rodriquez's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Knight wants to pass the guard but Rodriquez is keeping the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rodriquez is trying to keep Knight in close.
Knight is pushing down on Rodriquez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rodriquez is fighting to maintain full guard but Knight has managed to sneak the leg through.

Knight controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Rodriquez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Knight wants to control from the top but Rodriquez keeps moving.
Knight slips nicely into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Knight lands a nice short elbow.
Knight is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Knight looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Rodriquez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Knight perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rodriquez lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Rodriquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Knight is working away from the top position though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Knight takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Knight passes to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knight lands with some strikes.
Rodriquez looks gassed!

Rodriquez is bucking up trying to escape but Knight cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Rodriquez tries to buck Knight off but he can't manage it.

Knight lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Rodriquez in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Knight postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Rodriquez out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Knight goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jedi Knight!
Jedi Knight decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
