The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martens stuffs the takedown.
Guyjin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Martens as he jumps to the side.
Yukata Guyjin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martens fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Guyjin, pushing him back against the cage.
Guyjin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Martens smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yukata Guyjin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guyjin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Martens swivels and escapes.
Martens bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Guyjin is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Martens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guyjin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Martens wants to stand but Guyjin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Guyjin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Martens escapes and throws Guyjin's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Guyjin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Martens's best efforts.

Guyjin is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Martens pulls his head out easily.

Guyjin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Martens looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Martens throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Martens thows a huge punch but Guyjin dodges it nicely.
Martens seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Guyjin manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Martens must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
