Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leo Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zeek Hayward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Hayward.
Rua is breathing heavily.

Rua scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Rua is looking to stall here but Hayward recovers full guard.
Rua postures up in Hayward's guard and throws a big left but Hayward blocks it.
Rua wants to control from the top but Hayward keeps moving.
Hayward wants to stand and escape but Rua is having none of it.

Hayward kicks Rua off and gets to his feet.
Hayward throws a head kick but Rua moves out of range.
Rua shoots in but Hayward avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hayward tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hayward misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rua blocks a head kick by Hayward.
A head kick misses from Hayward.
Hayward pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hayward tries a head kick but it misses.
Hayward throws a sloppy head kick and Rua moves out of range easily.
Rua has a takedown stuffed.
Rua looks for a takedown but Hayward sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leo Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hayward throws a lazy head kick

and Rua counters with a shoot takedown. Hayward fights it but they end up in guard.
Rua tries to free his leg and advance position but Hayward is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rua accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rua forces his way into half guard.
Hayward really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rua has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hayward defend it? Rua steps over the head and cranks it - Hayward is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rua!
