The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angle ducks right into an uppercut from Maluco.

Maluco throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Angle.

Angle shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Maluco has his foot on Angle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Angle works his way back into a safe position though.

Maluco had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Angle is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Maluco Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Angle's back instead.

You can see the frustration on Angle's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Angle breaks Maluco's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Angle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maluco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Angle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maluco swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maluco is looking to sinch up a triangle. Angle throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Maluco's body to avoid the submission. Maluco has instead reached around Angle's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Maluco arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
