The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Simpson tries to clinch but Egorov is having none of it.
Simpson wants to clinch but Egorov slips to the side
and Egorov counters with a left to the body.
Simpson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Egorov counters with a good low kick that Simpson was not able to check.
Simpson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Egorov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Simpson moves in looking to clinch but Egorov pushes him off.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Egorov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Egorov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Egorov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Egorov throws an elbow that misses. Simpson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Egorov's guard. Nice move by Simpson!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Egorov is on top in guard.
Egorovis looking to pass into half guard but Simpson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Simpson is in guard.

Egorov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Simpson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Egorov is proving hard to escape from.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Egorov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Simpson defends it easily.

Simpson is posturing up here but Egorov has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Simpson tries to roll out but it's too tight and Simpson has to tap! Slick submission there by Egorov!

Anton Egorov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
