Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcelino Landry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Landry comes to the cage accompanied by The Black Keys - ThickFreakness. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Maia.
Jab, jab by Landry - just one landing.
It looks like Damian Maia has been cut.
Landry thows a body shot but no joy.
Maia misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Maia takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Landry lands a lovely overhand right.
Maia throws a lazy uppercut
and Landry counters with a thumping low kick.
Maia showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Landry.
Landry moves away from the strike by Maia.
Landry throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Maia on the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Landry lands a glancing blow to the side of Maia's head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Landry's corner calls for a 1-2. Landry obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Landry stuns Maia with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Maia looks gassed!
Landry lands with a nice body punch.
Landry ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Landry is looking to slow Maia down with leg kicks.
Landry changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Landry moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Landry fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Maia to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Maia looks to clinch but Landry throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Maia taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Marcelino Landry!
A determined Marcelino Landry didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
