PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zeburdiah Zappatista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zappatista comes to the cage accompanied by Kanye West - Runaway. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zeburdiah Zappatista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Silver!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zappatista misses with a body kick.

Zappatista shoots in and gets a takedown into Silver's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Zappatista pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silver is keeping the position for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silver can do anything to dispel that myth.
Zappatista is working hard here to advance position.
Silver manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Zappatista wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Silver.

Zappatista regains half guard.
Zappatista is refusing to be controlled, as Silver sits in half guard.
Zappatista tries to get to full guard but Silver has control of the leg.
Silver wants to take a breather but Zappatista is having none of it.
Silver is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Zappatista manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Silver is in a horrible position here. Zappatista smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Silver is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Zappatista lands a big elbow.
Zappatista has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Zappatista takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Zappatista will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Zappatista has control of Silver's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Silver regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zappatista has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silver's face.
Zeburdiah Zappatista overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Zappatista fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Zappatista has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silver's face.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zappatista wants to control the pace but Silver is squirming around nicely.

Zappatista looking to control and managing it successfully.
Silver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zappatista. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zappatista cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Zappatista is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silver can do to turn this around?
Zappatista postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Silver looks a forlorn figure.
Silver tries to hold on but Zappatista pushes him away.

Zappatista fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Silver can't escape the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silver is breathing heavily.

Zappatista takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Zappatista lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Zappatista lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Zappatista takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Zappatista wants to control the pace but Silver is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zeburdiah Zappatista dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Zappatista thows a body kick. Silver tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Silver misses with a hook. Zappatista ducked under it nicely.
Zappatista darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Zappatista fails with a takedown attempt.
Zappatista swings for the body but Silver moves out of range.
Zappatista looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Zappatista moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Zappatista.
Silver takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Zappatista bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Zappatista closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silver circles away.

Zappatista connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Silver to the floor! Zappatista dives in looking for the finish!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zappatista passes the guard and advances to mount!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Silver is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Johnny Silver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Silver in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Silver takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Zappatista with a couple of short strikes.
Silver is still in real trouble! Can Zappatista finish him?

Zappatista lands a nice shot to the head.

Zappatista with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Silver seems to have recovered his senses.

Zappatista is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Silver goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Zappatista!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Zeburdiah Zappatista!
In his post fight interview, Zeburdiah Zappatista started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
