PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batista comes to the cage accompanied by I WALK ALONE. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Masters!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters throws a head kick that misses.

Batista is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Batista loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ken Masters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Masters tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Batista is able to avoid easily.

Batista fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Masters sprawls well initially but Batista persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Masters has given up his back. Will we see Batista going for some submissions?

Masters is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Batista is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Masters has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Batista has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Masters taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Batista doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dave Batista!
In his post fight interview, Dave Batista started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
