The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uleh on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nice sprawl there from Uleh as Laperouge shoots in.
Uleh throws the left hand but Laperouge avoids the punch easily.
Laperouge lands with a hook. Uleh tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Uleh slaps away a takedown attempt from Laperouge, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Uleh counters with a shoot takedown. Laperouge fights it but they end up in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Laperouge wants to control but Uleh is keeping him busy.
Laperouge uses his free foot to push down on Uleh's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Uleh.
Uleh holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Laperouge tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Laperouge has hold of Uleh's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Uleh manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Laperouge goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Uleh turns into him and now he's in Laperouge's guard.
Uleh wants to pass the guard but Laperouge is keeping the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Laperouge holds on and takes a little breather.
Uleh wants to stand but Laperouge is controlling his posture from full guard.

Laperouge is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Uleh defends well.

Laperouge is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Uleh is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Uleh is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Laperouge has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Uleh is looking to defend but Laperouge has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Uleh! Laperouge pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Uleh taps out and this one is all over!
