Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tim Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Bullard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johns comes to the ring accompanied by Cocaine Blues. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tim Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Justin Bullard!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bullard.
Bullard moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Johns misses the shot to the body.
Bullard thows a body shot but no joy.
Johns walks into a left hand.
Johns slips a jab from Bullard.
Johns misses with a body shot.
Johns uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bullard.
Bullard throws a hook but Johns avoids it easily.
A right-left combo lands from Johns.
A big right from Johns misses.
Johns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bullard was well out of range. Poor timing from Johns.
Bullard misses with a looping right.
Johns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bullard moves away.
Bullard connects with a right hand. Johns shakes it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johns pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Johns fails to land with a series of punches.

Johns clinches up against the ropes.
Johns digs a right hand into Bullard's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bullard's gas tank.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Johns.
Johns struggles to land a body shot inside as Bullard controls his hands.
Johns throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bullards head.

Bullard pulls guard successfully.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Johns drops back looking for a leg! Bullard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bullard manages to kick Johns off! Johns jumps back into Bullard's guard.
Bullard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bullard can do anything to dispel that myth.
Johns passes Bullard's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Johns seems to be working for a kimura but Bullard defends the submission attempt.
Bullard is looking to escape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Johns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bullard keeps working.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Johns is trying to work for a kimura but Bullard is defending well.

Johns moves nicely into side control.
Johns tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Johns stands up and beckons Bullard to his feet.
Johns on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bullard takes a swing at Johns's ribcage but misses.
Nice defenses there by Johns.
Good leg kick by Johns there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bullard moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Johns throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johns lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johns.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johns throws a leg kick which misses Bullard's front leg but catches the back leg as Bullard tries to avoid it.
Justin Bullard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bullard misses with a wild combination.
Bullard waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Johns.
Bullard scores with a punch to the head.
Bullard throws a body punch but Johns moves out of range.
Jab, jab by Bullard - just one landing.
Bullard is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Johns lands a two punch combo.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Johns closes the distance and clinches.

Bullard jumps guard and drags Johns to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Johns wants to control from the top but Bullard keeps moving.
Johns wants to pass the guard but Bullard is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Johns dominated that round.

Bullard looks to throw the jab but Johns is out of range.
Bullard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Johns misses with a wild body shot.
Bullard looks to land a right hand but Johns moved out of range.
Johns cracks Bullard with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.

Johns closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bullard quickly recovers to half guard.

Bullard is trying to stand up here but Johns is controlling him well.

Bullard makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bullard.

Johns might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Johns works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bullard is trying to stand up here but Johns is controlling him well.
Johns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johns wants to control but Bullard is keeping him busy.
Tim Johns overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bullard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Johns has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bullard's face.

Johns is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bullard can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Johns throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Johns has hold of Bullard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bullard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Johns is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bullard to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bullard shrugs it off.

Johns wants to finish this one by submission but Bullard is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Johns.

Johns moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bullard has worked his arm free - good work by Bullard!
The ground and pound from Johns seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johns connects with a nice short shot to Bullard's temple.

Johns sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Tim Johns showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johns, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
