Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Craig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Catfish Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Craig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Catfish Davis!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis closes the distance and clinches.
Davis drops down looking for an ankle pick but Craig pulls his leg out and moves away.
Craig leaves Davis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Craig tries to clinch there but Davis circles away.

Davis gets tackled into the cage by Craig. Craig maintains the clinch.

Craig is fighting off a takedown attempt but Davis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Craig to the mat. Craig regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Craig wants to stand up but Davis is controlling him.
Davis lands a couple of elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Craig controls Davis momentarily but Davis frees himself.

Craig is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Craig swings wildly with an uppercut but Davis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Davis wants a takedown.
Simon Craig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Catfish Davis.
Davis has Craig pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Craig manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Craig manages to pull guard.
Craig not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Davis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Davis prevents Craig from getting back to his feet.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Craig has control of Davis's left arm, preventing Davis from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Simon Craig just wasn't active enough.
No luck for Davis with that takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Craig.

Craig fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Davis to the ground. Craig is now in Davis's guard.

Davis pushes Craig off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Davis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Craig is fending him off so far but Davis persists. Nope, Craig circles away and we're back to standing.

Craig shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Craig is landing with some decent strikes but Davis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Craig wants to control the pace but Davis is squirming around nicely.
Davis is trying desperately to improve position.
Craig looking to control but Davis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Craig pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
BOOM! Craig connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Davis can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Craig controlling the pace for now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Craig prevents Davis from getting the reversal.
Davis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Craig looking to control and managing it successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davis is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simon Craig dominated that round.
That's time! Craig's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Davis is trying to trip Craig. He has hold of a leg but Craig is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Davis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Craig is trying to control the position but Davis postures up.
Davis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Craig wants to sweep but no luck.

Craig pushes Davis off and scrambles back to his feet.

Davis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Davis shoots in and gets a takedown into Craig's guard.
Davis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Craig is pulling down on Davis's head to control his posture.
Craig wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.
Davis wants to control from the top but Craig keeps moving.

Craig is looking for a triangle but Davis pushes his legs off easily.

Craig isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Davis stacks Craig on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Davis!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Davis lands a few punches from side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Craig can't do much from the bottom here.
Craig takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Davis is looking to take a break and control but Craig is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

You can see the frustration on Craig's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Davis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Davis grinds an elbow into Craig's temple.
Catfish Davis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Davis looks up at the clock and then as Craig takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Davis smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Craig is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Davis decides to stand back up. Davis steps back and let's Craig get back to his feet.
Davis misses with a takedown

and Craig counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Davis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Craig manages to get himself to full guard.

Craig has his feet on Davis's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Catfish Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davis is defended easily by Craig.
Craig stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Craig wants it to stay on the feet.
Davis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Davis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Craig avoids it really well and circles away.
Simon Craig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Catfish Davis.

Craig throws the kick towards the body but Davis avoids it.

Davis wants to get up but he can't break Craig's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Davis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Catfish Davis.
Craig tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Davis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Davis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Davis working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Craig tries to bench press Davis off him but Davis keeps the position.
Craig is not content to let Davis control the position.
Davis tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Craig wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Craig is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Davis off and has taken his back!

And that's the end of the fight!
Catfish Davis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Davis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
