Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Swiderski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrei Vega!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vega looking to score a takedown here. Swiderski is defending well but Vega drives through and ends up in Swiderski's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Swiderski is trying to keep Vega in close.

Vega decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Vega shoots for a takedown but Swiderski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vega tries to score a power double leg takedown but Swiderski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vega somewhat.
Vega looks gassed!

Vega gets caught flat footed, as Swiderski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Swiderski's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Swiderski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vega keeping moving, preventing Swiderski from controlling successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vega working for a triangle but Swiderski defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Swiderski working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Swiderski wanted to stand there but Vega had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vega is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Swiderski is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Swiderski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vega is proving hard to escape from.
Swiderski wants to control from the top but Vega keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Adam Swiderski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Vega pushes Swiderski up against the cage in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Swiderski jumps guard.
Vega is fighting to break Swiderski's control of his arms but Swiderski is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Vega won't allow Swiderski to get back to his feet.
Vega distracts Swiderski with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Vega looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Vega pushing down on Swiderski's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Swiderski is refusing to be controlled, as Vega sits in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Vega.
Swiderski on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Vega is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Swiderski doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vega.
Swiderski tries to roll over but Vega keeps him under control.

Vega is looking for a kimura but Swiderski is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vega to get the leverage.
Swiderski trying to control but Vega postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Swiderski tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Vega has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Swiderski defend it? Vega steps over the head and cranks it - Swiderski is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Vega!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Andrei Vega!
