The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bykov looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bykov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hagler works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hagler looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bykov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bykov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bykov chips away with some ground and pound.
Bykov throws and elbow that misses. Hagler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bykov's guard. Nice move by Hagler!

Hagler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bykov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hagler has managed to get both his arms back between Bykov's legs - danger averted.
Hagler looking to sit in guard and control but Bykov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bykov wants to control from the top but Hagler keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hagler can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hagler looking for a sweep. Not yet Hagler, not yet.
Bykov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bykov distracts Hagler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Bykov works over Hagler with some ground and pound from guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bykov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bykov thows a huge punch but Hagler dodges it nicely.
Hagler works his way to full guard. Good work.

Bykov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hagler takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bykov scores with a head kick.

Bykov feints and as Hagler raises his hands in defense, Bykov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bykov advances to half guard.

Bykov seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Hagler is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
