Interesting.... Charles is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Muddy Waters- Hoochie Coochie Man. Ray Charles has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Norman Bates's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Charles fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bates avoids it really well and circles away.

Charles has Bates pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Charles pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bates tumbling to the mat - Charles dives into Bates's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bates is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Oh Bates is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Charles dips a shoulder and cracks Bates with a mighty uppercut! Bates falls back against the cage and Charles unloads with a barrage of strikes! Bates is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Charles screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
