Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jager Bomb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Maya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maya has chosen The Omen as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Damien Maya told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomb punishes Maya's body with a nice straight punch.
Maya shoots and misses
enabling Bomb to counter with a crisp jab.
Maya uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bomb.
Bomb moves into range and connects with a jab.
Bomb walks into a straight right hand from Maya.
Damien Maya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maya tries to score with a low kick but Bomb moves his leg out of the way.

Bomb is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Maya.
Maya pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Bomb counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Maya fails with an attempt to clinch.

Maya moves into the clinch.
Maya tries to land knees in the clinch but Bomb avoids the damage to the body.

Maya breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Maya swings for the body but Bomb moves out of range.
Bomb misses with a body shot.
Bomb fails to land with a series of punches.
Bomb throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Maya counters with an inside leg kick.
Maya gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Bomb counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bomb takes a kick to the side of the head.
Maya explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Maya ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bomb misses with a wild combination.
Bomb chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Maya can pounce on him.

Bomb misses the shot to the body.
Maya throws a front kick aimed at Bomb's knee but Bomb avoids it well.
Maya throws a nice inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
No joy there for Bomb, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Maya wants to clinch up but Bomb keeps it at a distance.
Bomb throws a hook but Maya blocks it.
Bomb has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Maya.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bomb looks to score with a jab to the body but Maya is just out of range.

Bomb takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Maya lands a jab-cross combination.
Good leg kick by Maya there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bomb ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maya moves away.
Maya connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Maya scoring well with a low kick there.
Maya tries to score with a low kick but Bomb moves his leg out of the way.
Bomb circles away from the clinch attempt

and Bomb counters with a single leg into guard. Maya didn't expect that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maya wants to sweep but no luck.
Bomb postures up.
Bomb throws a strike but Maya rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Maya looking to sit in guard and control but Bomb gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maya preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bomb throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Bomb throws a big right hand that misses.
Bomb pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Maya is keeping the position for now.

Maya is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Maya manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Maya misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Bomb is desperately trying to improve his position but Maya has a good base and remains in mount.
Maya thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
