The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie moves into the clinch.

Gracie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Step Child is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Step Child is bucking up trying to escape but Gracie cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Gracie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Step Child looks a forlorn figure.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gracie has hold of Step Child's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Step Child manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Helio Gracie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gracie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gracie is sitting in close to Step Child's body. Step Child has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gracie is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gracie is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Step Child.
