Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Scaum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Lentz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Lentz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Scaum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Lentz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Lentz misses the target.
Scaum shoots in for a takedown but Lentz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Scaum avoids a kick to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Lentz. Those never looked like landing.
Lentz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Scaum sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lentz somewhat.
Scaum wants to clinch.
Lentz misses with an attempted mid kick.
Scaum circles away from the clinch attempt.
Scaum dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lentz. That did some damage!

Lentz is trying to force a seperation but Scaum has the dominant position.

Scaum works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Scaum is looking to work some ground and pound but Lentz has wrist control.
Scaum wants to control from the top but Lentz keeps moving.
Scaum has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Scaum is really struggling to control Lentz but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Scaum looks for a takedown but Lentz sprawls well.
Lentz tries to clinch but Scaum is having none of it.

Lentz throws a jab when Scaum was well out of range.
Lentz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scaum swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lentz has had enough of the clinch but Scaum keeps him there for the moment.

Lentz is trying to drag Scaum to the mat but Scaum just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Lentz tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Lentz wants to break free but Scaum has control.

Scaum gets control of Lentz's arms and successfully pulls guard. Scaum will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Lentz wants to control but Scaum is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Dave Scaum will probably get the nod.

Dave Scaum is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lentz tries to land a front kick but Scaum steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lentz tries to bum rush Scaum with a series of wild strikes but Scaum uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lentz fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Scaum is out of range.
Lentz lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lentz.

Scaum fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lentz sprawls well initially but Scaum persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Scaum wants to stand up but Lentz is controlling the position.
Lentz is staying active underneath Scaum, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Scaum tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Lentz.

Dave Scaum has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Scaum has a takedown stuffed.
Scaum takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lentz wants to clinch.

Lentz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Scaum manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Scaum walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Scaum looking for a guillotine here but Lentz defends easily.
Lentz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Scaum is looking to sweep but instead, Lentz has passed into half guard.
Scaum is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Lentz is thwarting Scaum's attempts to control the position.

Scaum wants to stand up but Lentz is controlling him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dave Scaum will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Scaum shoots in looking for a takedown. Lentz tries to sprawl out of it but Scaum keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lentz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lentz tries to clinch but Scaum moves out of range.
Lentz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lentz wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Scaum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lentz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Scaum looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Scaum shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lentz sprawls well. Lentz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Scaum gets slowly back to his feet.

Lentz controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Scaum is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Scaum has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lentz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

I would just about give that final round to George Lentz.
